Founders’ Day Collegiate Academic Awards

As the Alumnae-Collegiate Relations Chair for the Toronto Alumnae Chapter, I had the honour to present two academic achievement awards to very deserving and impressive young women in the collegiate chapter.

The first award presented was the New Member Scholarship Award. This award recognizes and celebrates the new member with the highest GPA at the end of the first semester she was a member. It can be very challenging to balance the demands of the University of Toronto with work, friends, family, activities – all while being part of such an active sorority as Delta Delta Delta. It is for these reasons that winning the New Member Scholarship Award is such a testament to a person’s dedication to academics. The 2024 New Member Scholarship Award winner was Hunar Miglani. Hunar is currently majoring in Political Science and from pledge class Spring 2024.

The second academic award I had the honour to present was the Eileen Blaine Rudolph Scholarship Award. This award recognizes a current senior collegiate member who had the highest GPA at the end of their third year. To achieve academic excellence during such a pivotal and important time in a person’s academic career is something definitely worth celebrating. The 2024 winner of the Eileen Blaine Rudolph Scholarship Award is Mikayla Reitsma. Mikayla is currently a senior member of Delta Delta Delta and majoring in Global Health. She also recently returned from a semester abroad in Scotland, and is a member of the University of Toronto’s varsity lacrosse team – very impressive!
