There are more public statues of Burns around the world than any other writer.

Apparently, only Queen Victoria and Christopher Columbus have more statues when it comes to non-religious figures.

The theme of this year’s Annual General Meeting and Cocktail Party is Robbie Burns Day!  You don’t have to be of Scottish descent to appreciate a handsome tartan or to celebrate long-standing friendships à la Auld Lang Syne.  Just sport your favourite plaid apparel and join your Tri Delta sisters for good company and good food on Thursday, January 29th in the party room at 28 Harrison Garden Boulevard.  Please RSVP to one of the AGM posts on this website and indicate if you are able to bring an appetizer, a dessert or a bottle of wine.  Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Arrival starts at 6 p.m., with a short program scheduled to begin at 7 o’clock.  This year, our honoured guest will be a speaker from Julliette’s Place, the women’s shelter that the Toronto Alumnae Chapter has supported for over 20 years.  Gift cards, toiletries, and gently used clothing and toys for women and children will be collected.  Kindly let us know if you are able to attend, so that we may plan accordingly.  We look forward to toasting the new year and slàinte mhath!
