Dearest Deltas,
The collegiate chapter is raising money for a sister to attend the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute. (Please see below for more information.) If an alumna is interested in helping us out, she can contact me at s.mckechnie@mail.utoronto.ca. The total cost of UIFI registration is $560 and it would be incredible to be able to raise that much for a sister to go!
We are also looking for donations to our Silent Auction for our Spring Philanthropy event. The new philanthropy chair is Krys Thomson and she can be contact by email at krystal.thomson@mail.utoronto.ca.
Thank you so much for your help!
DLAM,
Shannon

About UIFI (taken from www.nicindy.org):
*
The Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute® (UIFI®) is a five day institute that brings together fraternity men and sorority women from across North America to create opportunities to explore, define, and enhance their leadership skills, personal awareness, commitment to their fraternity or sorority, and grow to expect values based action from themselves and those they lead. At UIFI®, you will be given the skills to improve your own leadership abilities and positively affect your chapter, council, and community.
*
Participating in UIFI means that you are willing to talk about how fraternity and sorority leaders live their Ritual. It means having the courage, character, and commitment to do what is right and devise a plan to change the current direction of some fraternities and sororities. It means having a vision of positive change.
*
The institute is interactive, fun, challenging, and intentional. During a session, you’ll experience hands-on interaction, experiential activities, discussion time, and personal reflection time. There is considerable focus on the positive aspects of fraternities and sororities in addition to important discussions about issues that threaten our future.
*
Each UIFI® participant will develop their own unique personal plan of action and be challenged to make a commitment to leading positive change within their organization. Creating positive change is a challenge, one that each participant must be willing to undertake.

My Experience:
*
I attended UIFI during the summer of 2013, in the middle of my term as President of the Canada Alpha chapter of Delta Delta Delta. The program has been extremely influential in my life, from my leadership in Tri Delta, to personal development. I believe that a collegiate sister from Canada Alpha should attend UIFI because the topics that are discussed – values, Ritual, honesty, trust – as well as the hard conversations about Greek stereotypes, hazing, and the future of our organizations lay an incredible foundation for leadership specific to fraternities and sororities and help leaders have the confidence to improve their chapters. Greek Life in Canada needs to have members who seek out the tools needed to continue the development of fraternities and sororities on our university campuses and UIFI is a truly incredible tool available to us. The Canada Alpha chapter of Tri Delta seeks your assistance to help a collegiate sister experience UIFI and ensure our chapter continues to prosper!
