2015 Team: Sandra Porter, Michelle Mercer, Carly Klassen & Krystal Mercer
2015 Team: Sandra Porter, Michelle Mercer, “Terry Fox”, Carly Klassen & Krystal Mercer

Dearest Deltas,

Terry Fox famously said, “Anything is possible if we try.” For the third consecutive year, our Tri Delta Toronto Alum Chapter team is going to give it the old college TRI at The Terry Fox Run! The event, which takes place on Sunday, September 18, 2016 reinforces our commitment to Children’s Cancer Charities and is inclusive in nature, e.g. no entry fee, no minimum donation, different distance options for participants. To view our team page:

  1. Go to www.terryfox.org.
  2. Select the “Teams” tab at the top (light green)
  3. Click on “Find/Donate to/Start/Join a team online” on the right (orange)
  4. Use the “I want to join a team/donate to a team” link (blue)
  5. Enter “Tri Delta Toronto Alum Chapter”

I would like to invite you, your family and your friends to join us! From our team page, click on the ‘Join Team’ button to sign-up and help us fundraise. You are welcome to choose the Run site that is most convenient for you, but if you wish to walk 5K and join our group for a post-Run brunch, please select the Toronto-Mooredale location. We chose Mooredale because it’s easily accessible by car and by TTC (Rosedale Station). We’re aiming for a 10 a.m. start time. If you can’t join us, you can also support our team by making a donation online at the above website. Our fundraising goal this year is $1200.

Please register today, dig out your old DDD t-shirt, and start fundraising!

You’re Invited to Tri Psi Convention!

Buffalo, NY Skyline

Dear Toronto Alumnae,

I have some exciting news to share with you! Psi Psi Psi, the sorority for Tri Delta mothers, is hosting its 93rd International Convention at the Millennium Buffalo Hotel from October 13-16, 2016!

You are cordially invited to attend all or part of the Convention. Of particular interest to Tri Deltas are the banquet and the Violet Brunch. The banquet is open to all Tri Psis, Tri Deltas, spouses, family and guests. Our Fraternity’s former NPC delegate Kathy Massie will be the keynote speaker and the cost is $43 US per person. The Violet Brunch for Tri Psis and Tri Deltas is $20 US per person. This is an excellent opportunity for a Buffalo shopping road trip! The hotel shares a parking lot with the Walden Galleria Mall (Macy’s) and is only a short drive from the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. Rooms for up to four guests are available for $119 US per night.

Also, the Tri Psis will be conducting initiation at the Convention. Tri Delta daughters serve as sponsors for their mothers at this Ritual written by Sarah Ida Shaw Martin. Initiation is open to mothers, stepmothers and foster mothers of DDDs of all ages, not just collegians. Whether your mom attended college, joined Tri Delta, joined a different NPC group or didn’t pledge a sorority at all, Tri Psi sisterhood is open to her. It’s a wonderful way to honor your mom and to share with her the bonds that Tri Psis and Tri Deltas hold dear. The initiation fee is $40 CDN.

Please feel free to share this invitation with your Tri Delta friends. I expect we’ll get a good number of DDDs from New York and Ontario, so co-chair Christine Calhoun has graciously offered a hospitality suite for Tri Delta attendees to gather for an informal meet and greet. I hope to see many of you there! Kindly let me know if you have any questions. I’d be happy to direct you to the appropriate party.
