Retreat Request

This summer the collegiate chapter will be hosting our annual retreat the July 24th – 26th weekend. Our normal location of a sister’s cottage is unavailable that weekend so we are currently looking for a place in which to host it and are having little luck. If there is any alumnae who will be willing to allow us the use of their cottage, or knows of a place where we might be able to get access to a low cost place to host retreat we would be grateful. Obviously the chapter is willing to compensate with monetary fees if the owner so chooses.

If you can help:

Our current VP administration Madeleine Morassutti, will be taking responsibility for the event and ensuring that the house is fully cleaned and that no property is damaged. Anyone who can help in any way please contact Madie at

Hope everyone has had a Happy April!

Delta Love and Mine,

Melanie Blundell and the Canada Alpha Collegiate Chapter.

Chapter Birthday

This coming summer Canada Alpha chapter will be celebrating it’s 85th birthday on Sunday May 24th and the chapter has plans to celebrate! Over the last two years we have done small celebrations amongst ourselves, including hat making, cake decorating, and a particularly fun cupcake photo-op. This year the chapter has decided, since this is a big birthday, to host an open house for everyone to come by. We are currently going through plans and hoping for some help from Alumnae. We are planning on putting photos of the chapter and her members from years gone past and bringing back fun memories.

How to get involved:

Anyone who wishes to get involved in planning or give us some snapshots of memories we would love to have your help! You can either contact myself: or Guiliana Sframneli: Further details and invites will be posted  as we get closer to the date!

Colour Me Rad Updates

Color me rad Updates!

Unfortunately this event was extremely popular this year and tickets have currently sold out. Three Members are already signed up and still going to run! We have a GoFundMe page set up and they would love to have your support. There is an option on the color me rad website to sign up for a waiting list for tickets. They have stated they will be opening more start times and possibly another day for the run. If you still have interest in running please feel free to sign up for the waitlist as many of the collegians have.

We look forward to sharing the day with you and enjoying the run!

Colour Me Rad 5K RUN – May 30th run time 11:15 am

Colour Me Rad Fun Run 2015

Back in 2013 twelve collegiate members participated in the Color Me Rad 5K fun run. We made t-shirts and raised over $1000, which was given to Big Brothers and Big Sisters Toronto. We’ve decided to do it again this year and would love the alumnae to join our team!

Color Me Rad is a fun run of 5k, you can walk run or skip through the colour stations along the track. The idea behind color me rad is to get splashed with as much colour as you can! They use a non-toxic cornstarch based powder, so there are no worries of latex or gluten reactions and even better, it won’t dye your hair!

The event is May 30th 2015, at Downsview Park.

The early bird special price of US$45 goes until April 17th. After this date prices increase by $5.

How to Join:

Click the link  and click ‘join a team’.

The team names is DELTA FORCE, and the password tridelta, we are currently taking the 11:15 start time, but you may choose whatever is available and start with us.

By entering the Promo code BIGCOLOR (American spelling) you can have 20% of your registration fees go to Big Brothers Big Sisters. We will be fundraising as well and hoping to split the funds between Sick Kids and BBBS Toronto. Our go fund me page is set up and donations are welcome if you wish to contribute without joining the run.

In typical style we will be printing T-shirts similar to the last time we did it. They will be White shirts with RΔCE RΔCE RΔCE and the date, hashtag and possibly the crest. The price of these will be estimated and details given out to those who sign up.

For more information you can email me at or go to the official website for the Toronto Run (

We hope to see your name on our team!
