Sister Deltas,

My name is Belinda Zhang and I’m currently serving as Canada Alpha’s philanthropy chair. Our Chapter would like to cordially invite you to our biannual all-you-can-eat fundraiser on Monday, March 16th at 8pm!

To give you a little update on our current philanthropic goals, Tri Delta’s newest endeavour is to raise $60 million in 10 years for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! This is the single largest commitment that any partner has ever made, and to show their appreciation for our ongoing support, St. Jude has named their short-term housing facility “Tri Delta Place.” Our dream of supporting children who have been affected by cancer is finally manifesting in such tangible ways!

Our chosen theme for this event, ABC’s with DDD’s, is inspired by St. Jude itself! When the Chapter President, Kirsten, and I visited the hospital, we saw a wall named “ABC’s of Cancer.” On this wall, each drawing contained a letter of the alphabet with a mini story or poem written by a patient (check it out here: http://mycountry955.com/abcs-of-cancer/). We’ll have printed replicas of these posters hung around the house during the event! With this theme, we hope to bring the focus back to our cause: helping children with cancer. This event will take us back to the ages of the patients who wrote these stories — we’re so excited to implement this into the food (think mac ’n cheese, mini hot dogs, chicken nuggets and juice boxes!), music and decorations.

There are several different ways for you to get involved — we’d absolutely love if you could come to the event itself, but if you’d like to contribute in other ways, we’d sincerely appreciate any monetary or in-kind donations toward decorations, food and items for our silent auction! Please keep in mind that we rely solely on donations to make this evening a success. Your support and effort leaves a long lasting impression on the people that benefit from the money that Tri Delta raises! As always, 100% of our proceeds will go toward SickKids and St. Jude.
