Deltas In the News

Canada Alpha’s own Andrea Prasow (UofT ’99) has been in the news a lot lately. As counsel for several Guantanamo Bay detainees Andrea made a name for herself as a human rights lawyer, author and advocate. She has since left the Office of Military Commissions, where she worked as an attorney, to join Human Rights Watch where she currently serves as senior counsel, terrorism and counterterrorism. As a successful woman working in international law and human rights she has become a sought after speaker and author.

Andrea graduated from University of Toronto in 1999 with a BA in Political Science. She completed her JD at Georgetown University Law Centre in 2003.

Happy 2011!

Dearest Deltas,

Happy New Year!  It’s hard to believe that 2011 is already a week old.  I hope that you had a peaceful holiday season and look forward to catching up with you in person at our Afternoon Tea & AGM in March.  The details will be included in our next newsletter and posted here by the first week of February.  In the meantime, please forward any Tri Delta Tribune contributions to Ivy Bojmic by Sunday, January 23.

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Katie Grennan to Toronto.  She is a Tri Delt from Iowa State University (Omega Delta) who has recently relocated to the GTA.  Thanks for getting in touch, Katie!  We hope you can join us for tea and scones at our next event.

DL,

Carly
