Myth or Fact?

How much do you know about alumnae membership? Take the quiz and find out!

  • Toronto Alumnae Chapter dues are $45 per month.

MYTH – Local dues are only $45 per year! That’s the same as a one tall latte per month!

The benefits last longer than a coffee break, though. In addition to an annual directory and quarterly issues of the Toronto Tri Delta Tribune, our local dues cover sponsorship of the collegiate chapter, philanthropic donations, free and subsidized events, refreshments, supplies, our Founders’ Day room rental, Circle Ceremony gifts, and our Convention delegate’s expenses.

International dues are $20.00 and cover various costs, including The Trident, Convention, programming, and administration. International dues are waived for Life Loyal members.

That means, you can pay your combined international and local dues for the low cost of $65.00 per year! (The total cost for 2015 grads, due to a Toronto Alumnae Chapter subsidy, is only $25.00.)

  • Almost 50% of the Toronto Alumnae Chapter membership was initiated in the 2000s.

FACT – Forty-seven percent of our 2014-2015 dues-paying members were initiated in the year 2000 or later.

We’re fortunate to have members of all ages who are young at heart and enjoy each other’s company at various events throughout the year.

  • Alumnae members are expected to attend an event every week.

MYTH – We all lead busy lives, so there’s never any pressure to attend an event. Having said that, our executive committee works tirelessly to plan a balanced calendar. We hope that you’ll attend as many activities as your schedule permits.

We have four big events per year: the New Member Meet & Greet, Founders’ Day, the Annual General Meeting (our only business meeting of the year) and the Grad Luncheon. Our calendar is also peppered with informal outings, like the Terry Fox Run, Manicures and Martinis, Career Night and Winterlicious.

You’re a Tri Delta collegian for four years; you’re a Tri Delta alumna for life! I hope that you’ll see the value in paying your alumnae dues in order to keep our Fraternity strong – but more importantly – I hope that you’ll see the value in alumnae membership. It’s an enriching and rewarding experience, and our members would love to see you! If you haven’t already done so, please consider paying your Toronto Alumnae Chapter dues via the PayPal widget on the top right side of this page. (Use the arrow to select Life Loyal or New Grad.) I look forward to seeing you at Founders’ Day on November 25th.

Loyally,

Carly Klassen

President, Toronto Alumnae Chapter

I don’t understand why paying dues is such a problem for people. The benefits are much more than the dues
